Strategic design agency Anthem Worldwide (www.anthemww.com) has appointed Helen Atkinson to the newly created role of Client Services Director in the UK. With her extensive experience in both the retail and branded goods sector, she will be able to add an even greater level of strategic thinking to help clients achieve their growth ambitions.
Atkinson will work across Anthem’s two UK offices in York and London and part of her remit will also be to co-ordinate the Account teams skills and expertise offered by both offices in order to enhance and the agency’s full service offering to its clients. Hans Muysson, group managing director at Anthem Worldwide, comments: “Helen has an unusual and invaluable set of skills and experience having worked both as a designer and also directing major design projects at a senior level on both client and agency side. This means she understands issues from a design and delivery perspective, but also has real insight into the issues our clients are facing too.”
Atkinson’s career started when she spent seven years as a graphic designer at several well-known branding and design agencies working on blue chip clients such as Boots, British Airways, and Crown Paints. She then moved to Sainsbury’s to be Design Manager and was promoted to head of design where she oversaw own brand packaging design, as well as corporate and retail design.
After seven years she left Sainsbury’s to work as a design management consultant, with particular emphasis on running identity implementation programs and providing retail consultancy for a number of major brands including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Virgin Media and Volkswagen UK.
