Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer and a New Label Are a Summer Hit

Posted: May 2, 2014

Introduced in February 2009, Crabbie's Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer has proven to be a phenomenal success for brand owner Halewood International. The innovative product featuring pressure sensitive labels from Spear has been developed in line with the current trend for drinks served over ice and sales have rocketed since its launch last year.
One UK supermarket shopper told the Mirror newspaper: “It really has taken the drinks market by storm. It appeals to a really wide market—from older drinkers who remember traditional ginger beer to curious youngsters.”
Even after winning an award for its labels, Halewood asked Spear to provide them with new pressure-sensitive labels for their newest product. The Spear printed labels are manufactured using a seven-color combination rotary and UV flexography print with a hot-stamp foil. The label highlights the Crabbie’s brand by featuring impressive depth of color and white lettering to produce an effective, almost 3D result. For more, visit
