Datamonitor Group announced that it acquired Pack-Track, the specialist packaging research and analysis organization. Following the acquisition, Pack-Track will operate independently under the direction of founder Andrew Streeter to preserve its unique offering and ethos for global FMCG and OTC brand manufacturers.
The acquisition combines the expertise of a specialist packaging innovation research and analysis house with Datamonitor's global network and track record of success in innovation and NPD analysis. Giles Watts, consumer business unit director at Datamonitor, comments: “The Pack-Track team has built a specialized and respected product that complements Datamonitor’s mission to organize and analyze the world's consumer packaged goods information and make it available, accessible, and meaningful to our clients.”
Consumer research and analysis director at Datamonitor, Will Keast-Butler, adds: “Our companies share similar values; we both always put our clients first and are committed to innovating to improve their experience. Together, we are natural partners to offer a compelling and expert packaging insights proposition to consumer brands across the globe.”
Packaging innovation is increasingly a critical success factor, particularly with the need to respond to the environmental agenda, switch to sustainable resources and lower carbon footprints. As a result, consumer packaging continues to grow in commercial importance, as brand manufacturers integrate features into packs that make them more consumer friendly and add value to drive premium price points.
Pack-Track’s subscription based service, focusing specifically on packaging innovation around the world, ensures that packaging, innovation, and new product development professionals have the detailed knowledge and insight necessary to capitalize. For more, email
