Dave Matthews partners with Sonoma County winemaker Steve Reeder on The Dreaming Tree wines, a new portfolio that aims to make quality wine accessible. Matthews and Reeder also wanted to create a more environmentally friendly product, so they looked for more sustainable packaging options.

The pair collaborated with Constellation Wines U.S. to create

  • a 2010 Central Coast Chardonnay
  • a 2009 North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon
  • a 2009 North Coast Crush red blend

All three wines are in lightweight bottles, which Constellation Wines says are 50 percent lighter than the average wine bottle, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint as the wines are transported. The cork closure is sustainably grown, and the bottle's label is made with 100% recycled kraft brown paper and sealed with an eco-friendly sealant.

"The Dreaming Tree wines are something I genuinely feel good about and it is a project that I am honored to be a part of," says Matthews. The wines have a suggested retail price of $14.99.
