First Choice Introduces RF and Heat-Sealable 100% PCR PET Packaging

(August 2010) posted on Wed Aug 11, 2010

NextLife Packaging Group (NPG) partner First Choice Packaging (FCP) is introducing the first RF and heat-sealable sustainable NextLife certified packaging alternative developed to replace PVC and PETG in thermoformed clamshell and blister packaging. The new line of packaging is made with 100% post-consumer recycled PET from reclaimed water and soda bottles.

Offering clarity, performance, and tamper-proof sealing characteristics equal to PVC and PETG, the new environmentally friendly NextLife certified packaging is a practical alternative that is cost-competitive with PVC and more economical than PETG. The new packaging also offers a significant carbon footprint reduction compared with PETG and is recyclable where #1 material is accepted.

According to Phil Rapp, NextLife Packaging COO, the new packaging is triple certified on all levels of production and carries life cycle assessments and carbon footprint analysis. In addition to giving customers practical sustainable alternatives and advantages on sustainability scorecards, companies using NextLife branded products receive NPG’s full support, including highly effective marketing services and tools.

The NextLife Packaging Group represents and supports a network of manufacturers that produce sustainable raw materials, packaging and products containing up to 100% post-consumer recycled content for both food and non-food applications. All materials are certified via a third party Lifecycle Assessment and all network partners are supported by our Creative and Environmental Services divisions.
