Best of Show (Food Category Winner)
By: Hally Labels Ltd. (New Zealand)
For: Miada Corporation Ltd. (New Zealand)
This high-quality traditional looking label seems to have involved a wide color gamut. Remarkably, it was accomplished with just five colors. Also outstanding is the achievement of the glow and an overall very clean look. The label was printed on a silver substrate on the HP Indigo press ws4050, and there is a pronounced vignette in the middle yellow section. The text on the vertical edges appears to have been printed using hot stamp foil. This effect has actually been achieved by reversing the text out of white ink.
Nutraceutical
By: Hally Labels Ltd. (New Zealand)
For: Nutralife Health & Fitness (New Zealand)
Using the HP Indigo Digital Press for this high-impact label eliminated the need for trapping and ensured straight high-edge definition. In addition, the illusion of using hot-stamp foil was achieved by printing on a metalized substrate with the application of white ink to hide the foil in designated places and the digital printing enabled sequential numbering of each label on the roll.
Wine
By: S.A. Litho Labels (South Africa)
For: Engelbrecht Els Wine Farms (South Africa)
This label combines finishing technology with fine detail and excellent registration. The off-line foil with the high-build varnish finish provides the classic, elegant look, reflecting the quality of the wine. Previously the label had been printed conventionally and was transferred to the HP Indigo Digital Press. The quality and color of the digital printing precisely and consistently matched the original while turnaround time was reduced.
