NextLife, a national leader in environmental innovation, offers a depth of service offerings and capabilities in the area of sustainability, including expertise in supply chain optimization, sustainable packaging and product development, and eco-marketing. NextLife has a comprehensive and compelling licensing package or program of sustainability to businesses or brands that want to minimize their environmental impact while maximizing their bottom line.
The NextLife brand adds significant value to businesses who want to differentiate themselves by incorporating sustainable programs into their operations while validating those programs as truly sustainable. Lonnie Chenkin, president and CEO of NextLife, sat down with Package Design Magazine to answer a few questions.
PDM: For the uninitiated, what is the NextLife Packaging Group, and what are its goals?
Chenkin: NextLife was launched over two years to assist businesses of all types in achieving their sustainability initiatives. Licensing of the NextLife brand, along with the “intellectual property” behind the brand, provides tremendous value to a marketplace struggling with not only the concept and practical implementation of sustainability initiatives, but the defense of such initiatives as truly sustainable.
So, in a relatively short amount of time, NextLife has gone from a great eco-name to an innovative eco-brand, supporting the sustainability efforts of multiple consumer products companies. As our consumer business grew, we saw a tremendous, unmet marketplace and an opportunity to apply our core competencies in sustainability to the packaging industry. We formed a dedicated packaging arm of the company, and over the past year, we’ve been building up a network of NextLife-certified and licensed sustainable packaging suppliers for CPGs.
Our goal is to help our network partners increase visibility, become more profitable, and maintain the highest quality while they make that necessary shift to sustainability. With an integrated packaging supply chain network in place, we’re officially launching our packaging arm, The NextLife Packaging Group, this month.
