The challenge was to differentiate the product-said to be "the world's first cognitive enhancement drink"-from standard sports drinks. To meet it, the carton uses a single-row design that encapsulates the inner two cans around the curve of the two outer cans, increasing shelf appeal. The large "IQ" die-cut adds visual interest, immediately grabbing the consumer's attention. The closure tabs are bent at 90º angles and lock securely behind the two outer cans. An entry perforation at the top allows consumers to remove one can at a time without destroying the packaging.

Lexus USB Mailer For: Rapp Collins Worldwide
By: Great Western Industries
For a special mailing to a select group of Lexus owners, Lexus wanted a piece with the look and feel of suede-and the ability to carry a USB drive that would arrive undamaged after being mailed. The use of 12-point board provided the durability. VelveKote, a soft-touch coating, gave the elegant look and feel of suede with a deeper embossing than would have been possible with other materials. The result was a piece that captivated the recipients' senses of sight and touch, enticing them to open the panels and reveal the contents.

SUS stock mimics the look of the customer's signature corrugated fruit crates and supports the weight of the two jars in the die-cut insert to protect the carton from crushing or damage. The top and bottom pieces are modified Walker lock trays and, like the die-cut insert, are unglued. The boxes are stackable, and their components are flat-packed for easy storage until needed for each order.
