Smith Design Creates Packaging for Earth’s Best Tots Flushable Wipes

Earth’s Best, a leading natural and organic infant and toddler brand, has recently launched Tots Flushable Wipes to appeal to moms of potty-training toddlers.
Smith Design was commissioned to create a package design and shelf merchandiser under the Earth Best Tendercare Tots subbrand.
The challenge included creating graphics that would appeal to and encourage young toddlers and moms during this sometimes-difficult transition stage in a child’s development. The flushable wipes, according to Martha Seidner, vice president, Smith Design, were designed to make potty training a little less stressful and a lot more fun.
This included the challenge of creating a graphic solution on a difficult structure—a film bag with a plastic flip top lid dispenser located directly at the center of the principle display panel. This led Smith Design’s creative team to develop an innovative solution.
“We used the flip open dispenser as part of the design using a whimsical jungle animal theme,” Seidner says. “We turned the cumbersome lid into the primary graphic—the alligator’s mouth.” The animal concept will be extended to other items in the toddler-personal care line.
