DESIGN: Rexam Creates Complete Package for Avon’s Latest International Launch

Rexam believes the new glamorous, high-tech pump and bottle combination for Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir represents industry-leading standards of high-end, custom packaging. Avon’s Anew is the world’s leading mass market anti-aging skin care brand, offering breakthrough products infused with innovative technology.

The company selected Rexam for the demanding package needed for the multi-continent launch of Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir, which will be filled at Avon sites in China, Europe, and North and South America. Rexam’s worldwide network of Dispensing Systems and Make Up teams collaborated on the creation of this custom pump and bottle.

The Rexam SP343 lotion pump was crafted at the company’s Le Treport factory in France. Suitable for even the most aggressive formulas, the Rexam SP343 is versatile and requires no pre-compression. The custom PP actuator and collar are molded and vacuum metallized in Shanghai, at Rexam’s Qinpu facility, where the complete pump is assembled.

The ingeniously designed, two-part bottle is made at Rexam’s Make Up factory in Shanghai. An inner, injection-blown bottle (PP) with Snap’on neck contains the product, while the outer bottle is molded in clear PCTG and gold-sprayed on the inside and silk-screened on the outside for a visually stunning look.

MATERIAL: Stockmeyer Chooses Crown’s Fluted Can For Premium Soup Launch

The German soup manufacturer Stockmeyer has introduced a new range of premium soups for the U.K. market in fluted cans manufactured by Crown Food Europe, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. This new 400-gram decorated can size creates an original "retro" look, providing an alternative to the typical metal soup containers found on retail shelves today.

Manufactured at Crown Food Europe’s plant in Seesen, Germany, the steel-shaped food can with Eole III easy-open ends also features attractive lithographic decoration cleverly using the design to optimize the vertical fluting for a distinctive effect. According to Crown, Eole III easy-open ends offer best-in-class performance and quality through filling, handling, and distribution channels. The 400g size steel can is fully interchangeable on existing customer filling lines and compatible with existing continuous or static retort systems.

"We wanted a package that would evoke the premium quality of these soups to help us capture market share," says Klaus Weber, marketing manager of Buss Fertiggerichte GmbH. & Co. KG, filler of the Stockmeyer soups for the U.K. market. "Our choice is based on the strength of the experience with the shaped 800-gram can we use for our premium range in the U.K. Crown’s unique flute-shaped panels offer a refreshing take on the traditional straight soup can. Beautifully decorated, the shaped cans differentiate the soups at the point of sale and reinforce the high value of the Stockmeyer brand."
