This will be followed by discussions on security printing techniques, security inks, RFID, DNA, near IR dye targets, holograms, design, machine vision, and more.
There will be a special presentation on the counterfeiting of a package with a hands-on demonstration. The package and the knockoff will be available for examination. The same package will be printed incorporating security techniques to illustrate the implementation and effect of the technologies.

FEATURE REVIEW: Overt Brand Security Strategies Can Discourage Counterfeiters and Encourage Consumers By Ron Romanik

ANNOUNCEMENT: Med-Health Pharma Protects Patients from Counterfeit Drugs with the Kodak Traceless System
Med-Health Pharma LLC, a prescription drug repackager, introduced its application of Kodak's advanced anti-counterfeiting technology to assure authenticated products to physicians and their patients. Using the Kodak Traceless System for Anticounterfeiting, Med-Health Pharma places an invisible marker on its packages to distinguish genuine prescription drugs from dangerous fakes.
Med-Health Pharma delivers medications for point of care dispensing, a system that fills patients' prescriptions at a physician's office, rather than at a traditional pharmacy. Offering the most widely prescribed drugs in packages of 10-30 doses, Med-Health Pharma helps patients get the pharmaceuticals they depend upon for critical health needs at the time of diagnosis or treatment.
"Counterfeit prescription drugs represent a global crisis that has serious consequences for the entire healthcare industry," said Steve Powell, general manager and director, security solutions, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. "We're providing the pharmaceutical industry a powerful weapon in the fight against criminal activities that put patients' lives at risk." For more about Kodak Security Solutions, click here.
