On June 16th, ICMAD honored nine member companies for their innovative products, package designs and marketing ideas with the association's second annual CITY Awards for Cosmetic Innovators of The Year. ICMAD is the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Association, a trade association of independent cosmetic manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers of services and components to the cosmetic industry.
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony during ICMAD's 32nd annual meeting at The Grill Room at 2 World Financial Center in New York City.
Guest celebrity Kathy Dwyer, CEO and founder of the skinklinic(tm) company presided over the awards.
Kathy Dwyer is known in the cosmetic world for developing products that meet real needs, as well as her prowess in enhancing the bottom line. She made Fortune Magazine's 1998 list of top 100 women in business, and her resume includes positions at Revlon, Clairol, L'Oreal, and Gillette.
"With the addition of new categories in personal care, color cosmetic, and skin care innovation, we nearly doubled the number of entries in our entrepreneur awards program this year," said ICMAD president Karen Acker of KA Consulting Corp. "We honor all of our finalists for their innovation and creativity, and we recognize and thank each of them for their continued support of ICMAD."
ICMAD's 700 member companies are small, entrepreneurial businesses in the highly creative and competitive cosmetic, toiletry, and fragrance field. ICMAD provides a powerful voice for its members to the FDA, in Congress and with consumer groups and the media. (www.icmad.org).
