Rexam Fashions Stylish Pumps for Clothing Makers' Fragrances

Rexam Dispensing Systems, Purchase, N.Y., is helping Victoria’s Secret and Nautica maintain their sense of style by designing and manufacturing two fashionable, low-profile pumps for the clothing makers’ fragrance lines.

Rexam began supplying in October a super-low-profile pump and collar for Victoria’s Secret newest fragrance launch, “Breathless.” The pump, which features Rexam’s patented Crimpless System, will deliver the new EDP scent in 15-, 30-, and 75-ml bottles, as well as in a 7.5-ml spray sampler that replicates the retail package.

“Providing reliable components that complement, as well as enhance, the overall aesthetics of a package is a trademark of our ability to combine advanced technology with imaginative design,” says Jeff Speirs, account manager for Rexam Dispensing Systems. “The Crimpless System also makes the assembly process easier and more efficient, thus adding to productivity.”

Decorative Collar
Light pink anodized metal collar has Victoria’s Secret name silk-screened twice around its circumference, giving the “Breathless” fragrance line a distinctive and stylish look.
The low-profile metal pump and collar for “Breathless” are made of anodized metal in a light pink color that matches the coloring of the entire fragrance line package. Say Rexam officials, the Victoria’s Secret name is silk-screened twice around the circumference of the collar to give it a distinctive and stylish look.
“Decorating the anodized pump collar with the name of the product has been a real trend this season,” states Rexam vice president of sales and marketing Dennis Desrochers. “We use automated, high-speed screen-printing equipment for the collars. We have found that this is a very cost-effective way to add the product name to the primary package.”

The pump and collar for the retail-size package are manufactured at Rexam’s plant in Thomaston, Conn. The spray sampler utilizes another Rexam pump model, the SP5Ki “Invisible” pump with Snap-In System, and is produced at Rexam’s Le Tréport facility in France. “This miniature pump does not overpower the package, and is ideal for small-size replicas where line image is important,” notes Desrochers.

Complementary design
For Nautica, Rexam is producing stylish metal pumps for the new “Competition” EDT spray for men, a Unilever Cosmetics International (UCI) fragrance that comes in 75- and 100-ml sizes. These low-profile TNP pumps, which also feature Rexam’s Crimpless System, are finished in a matte black color that matches the bottle’s distinctive cap, while complementing the package’s overall modern, contemporary look.

Rexam’s TNP pumps ensure reliable performance without product compatibility concerns, as their design eliminates the need for rubber sealing gaskets. According to Rexam officials, the Crimpless System can be elegantly fashioned to the contour of any package, and is shipped completely pre-assembled.

“Reliable performance and elegant design go hand-in-hand with Rexam pumps,” says Shannon Payne, UCI account manager for Rexam Dispensing Systems. “Our proven technology and our ability to enhance modern, stylish packages help guarantee complete customer satisfaction with every use.”
