Countdown to Pack Expo

PMMI Will Add Value to Pack Expo With Package Design Conferences, Showcase Of Packaging Innovations™

Package designers and marketers visiting PACK EXPO International 2004 this November 7-11 at Chicago's McCormick Place will have the opportunity to review the year's most innovative packaging designs from around the world and learn about the newest advancements in packaging technology—all under one roof.

The Showcase of Packaging Innovations™ features real-world packaging applications recognized for outstanding design by the most prominent packaging organizations from around the world. After a successful debut at last year's Pack Expo Las Vegas, this year's Showcase of Packaging Innovations has more participants and featured designs, making it extremely beneficial to packagers searching for inspiration for their next breakthrough packaging idea. Admission to the Showcase of Packaging Innovations is included in the exhibit registration fee for Pack Expo International.

Currently, 14 organizations are scheduled to participate in the Showcase of Packaging Innovations:

  • Brazil Packaging Association (Packaging Design Award)
  • DuPont (DuPont Awards for Innovation in Packaging)
  • ExxonMobil Chemical Company (Golden Mummy & Pyramid)
  • Flexible Packaging Association (Packaging Achievement Awards)

To complement the design concepts and advanced technologies that attendees see on the show floor, PMMI is once again organizing the Conference at Pack Expo, running from Monday, November 8 through Wednesday, November 10.

The Conference program is divided into five time periods each day, with four concurrent sessions planned for each time slot. Conference sessions have been organized under several themes or "tracks," including Plastics, Materials/Containers, Closures, and Flexible Packaging. Within these tracks, attendees can choose from a variety of presentation topics, including microwave packaging, shrink sleeve and label technology advances, and dispensing closures.

After registering for the show, attendees can sign up for individual conference sessions, making it easy to incorporate the Conference at Pack Expo into busy expo schedules. Registering for the Conference on or before October 15, 2004 allows package designers to take advantage of a discounted fee of $55.00 per session. Those registering after October 15, 2004 or on-site will be charged $70.00 per session.

Show registration fees ($25.00 on or before October 15; $50.00 after October 15 and on-site) include entrance to Pack Expo International exhibits, Food Processing Machinery Expo exhibits, the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Pavilion, the Packaging Security Resource Center, the Showcase of Packaging Innovations, the New Product Spotlight, and the selected conference program sessions and proceedings.

Package designers can also register for the "Eye Opener" keynote sessions that will kick-off each day of the Conference Program beginning at 8:00 a.m. Representatives from key companies will be featured, offering unique and informed insights into the evolving and expanding roles of packaging in the global marketplace. Package Designers registering for the Eye Opener sessions on or before October 15, 2004 will be $55.00 per session ($70.00 after 10/15).
