COUNTDOWN TO PACK EXPO

Pack Expo Las Vegas 2007 Offers
Solutions to Build Stronger Brands

Today's brand owners are challenged more than ever with delivering more innovative and value-added products to consumers. Savvy marketers are leveraging innovative package designs that are highly focused and meet the specific needs of the target audience. So what's the key to making sure creative design ideas are turned into reality? The answer is to bring material suppliers and machinery manufacturers into the process early to make certain that package designs can be produced efficiently in the volumes required.

This is one way Pack Expo Las Vegas 2007, being held October 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, can help. Sponsored and produced by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, the show will feature the latest advancements in materials and machinery, offering attendees insight into the entire package development process and how the two elements can work in concert. This streamlined approach has a strong impact on the bottom line and enables brands to stay competitive.

Looking to expand

Several new colocated events at Pack Expo Las Vegas will extend attendee knowledge into complementary markets. The newest additions are the International Bottled Water Association's (IBWA) Bottled Water Convention and the Converting and Package Printing Expo (CPP Expo). The IBWA event focuses on technologies, processes, and industry trends to help bottled water professionals meet current and future challenges, and the CPP Expo reflects the new market synergies of the package printing, converting, finishing machinery and supplies industries. Adding even further value is the return of Process Expo, which showcases developments in food and beverage processing technology.

Joining these market-focused colocated events will be several popular technology pavilions returning from past shows. The Containers & Materials Pavilion will focus on innovative solutions that enhance packaging appearance, convenience, and product freshness, such as films and foils, plastics, resins, and glass. The Showcase of Packaging Innovations will feature hundreds of real-world applications from around the globe to spark inspiration for marketers and designers. Packages nominated for the Pack Expo Selects program, which recognizes best-in-class consumer packaging, will also be featured here.

Brand owners concerned about safeguarding product identity should not miss the Brand Protection Center, which will highlight packaging initiatives and technologies that guard against bioterrorism, package tampering, counterfeiting, and product adulteration. The Radio Frequency Identification Pavilion will once again feature solutions that meet the requirements of the entire supply chain. The Contract Packaging Pavilion will also return to showcase the latest services, packaging formats, and machinery available to the world's consumer and industrial goods manufacturers.

Visitors to Pack Expo Las Vegas 2007 will also find significant attention given to the topic of sustainability, which is receiving increased support from food and beverage shipments of sustainable or "green" packaging grow in number every year. Market research publisher Specialists in Business Information projects that the market supply for sustainable packaging will continue to grow steadily from $37 billion in 2005 to $42 billion in 2010.

"By highlighting innovation across all aspects and markets that packaging touches," explains Charles Yuska, PMMI President and CEO, "you provide brand owners with the ideal forum to gain the tools and knowledge they need to commercialize new packaging concepts quickly and efficiently."

A single admission fee will cover entrance to Pack Expo Las Vegas exhibits and pavilions as well as those at each colocated event.
