European Tube Manufacturing Association
ETMA 2007 Tubes of the Year

The European Tube Manufacturers Association (ETMA) is an association of producers of flexible aluminum, plastic, and laminate tubes for packaging purposes. The association's activities focus on: representation of the European tube industry to third parties; supply of statistics and packaging market information for its members; supply of packaging and raw material market information; monitoring of the European packaging, food contact and environmental legislation; creation of European collapsible tube standards; and public relations. ETMA's aim is to enter into an open dialogue with public and other stakeholders in order to promote tubes as packaging and the products of its members. www.etma-online.org

This shower gel and after-shave balsam tube is a new line from Baldessarini in 50-mm and 35-mm diameter tubes. The tubes feature three-color silk-screen printing design with silver embossing, finished off with two particularly user-friendly flip-top caps oriented to the printed image. The bronze and gold decoration on these ultra-modern tubes contains metallic pigments and is applied using specially structured screens on a dark-bronze colored sleeve, and the tactile effect imitates luxury leather.

The special silver metal cap closure has a hammer-finished surface, reflecting the exclusivity of the product.

This laminate tube has a revolutionary shoulder design where the tube opening on the shoulder is provided with a membrane that provides unmistakable tamper-evidence. In contrast to conventional membranes, which require an extra production step, this special membrane is a fixed part of the shoulder design. It enables the user to pull the membrane away from the tube easily with the aid of an integrated ring-pull closure.
