drupa 2008 Preview
Organize Your Trip With drupacube, Theme Days, Compass Sessions
Set to premiere at the upcoming print media fair from May 29 to June 11, the drupacube will serve as an infotainment center for print buyers. "Marketing managers and publishing executives have little interest in which technology was used to produce a printed product, " explains Ralph Scholz, coordinator of drupacube. "For them, what matters is the new communicative or commercial benefit that can be attained with the technology. And this is precisely the information that we're offering at the drupacube."
During the day, the cube-shaped construction erected on the shores of the Rhine in the CCD South parking lot will be the site of Theme Day workshops and half-day symposia. After 6 p.m. in the evenings, it will turn into a stylish venue for similarly themed events. For more drupa 2008 activities, visit www.drupa.com.
With over 1,800 exhibitors spread across an exhibition area of more than 1.8 million square feet, 400,000 visitors expected, and some 3,500 journalists from around the world, drupa 2008 will be bigger than ever before. This year's Compass Sessions will feature highly topical themes and internationally renowned speakers. The two-hour seminars promise to offer information especially of value to print and media industry decision makers looking for guidance on investment decisions. On 11 separate days, the Compass Sessions will tackle digital printing, digital workflows, offset printing, web-to-print solutions, printed electronics, premedia, and packaging printing.
Over 40 international speakers will help participants get their bearings among the broad scope of offerings at drupa. Combined with a light breakfast, the Compass Sessions in the Congress Center East at the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center form the ideal start to the drupa day. The detailed program can be found at www.compass-sessions.de.
