DISC, a company of specialty packaging solutions for more than 40 years, announced today that the its patented NEO Blu-ray disc package has received a Bronze Award in the 22nd Annual Gold Leaf Awards Competition from the Foil & Special Effects Association (FSEA). This prestigious international awards program spotlights the best use of value-added decorative technology used by the graphic arts community for print and packaging. The DISC NEO promotional package was honored in the CD/DVD category for "Best Use of Foil and Embossing."
"We are thrilled that our NEO media package is among the 2015 Gold Leaf Awards winners,” said John Rebecchi, senior vice president, marketing & new business development. “This year’s international panel of industry experts evaluated more than 300 entries in 35 categories on the basis of three criteria: design, execution and level of difficulty. These are areas in which NEO excels, thanks to the talent, technical expertise and strong branding focus embodied by the DISC design, innovation and production teams.”
The signature design element of NEO that makes it a standout package is its proprietary, patent pending, PixelChrome, mutli-layered, composite technology, which uses highly reflective lithographic material. It provides a super-glossy canvas on frameless art panels to brilliantly showcase visually stunning images like that of Paramount’s epic science fiction film, Interstellar or SONY’s Amazing Spiderman 2.
The Foil & Special Effects Association (FSEA) was established in 1992 as a resource and educational platform for decorative technologies, from foil stamping and embossing to foil lamination, special coatings and laser cutting. Its Gold Leaf Awards competition celebrates the quality, added value, shelf presence, brand recognition and security that decorative finishing provides print and packaging. The award winners are showcased in the photo gallery on FSEA’s website.
